DOPPLER EFFECT

SWING A SPEAKER AS FAST AS YOU CAN AND HEAR THE DOPPLER SHIFT (A LITTLE).

Set up the oscillator, small amplifier system as shown.  The oscillator output goes into the amplifier that drives a speaker on strong cable.  Set the frequency and amplitude to produce a medium frequency tone.  Swing the cable in a circle above your head so that the speaker flies around..  Small up-down frequency shifts are heard by the audience.

This demonstration requires a bit a skill, to get the speaker swinging fast enough without hitting anything.  Not highly recommended.  We are in the process of constructing a better motor-driven demonstration.
