Part 1
I've posted two more problems (easy ones) for today. We'll talk about
them in class and I'll start linking the material to the 'lectures'
that will be posted as "background" material.
I've also put answers for the two problems from Tuesday, in case you
either got stuck while working on them or you want to check your
answers. We can also talk about those problems today.
If you like looking ahead, I'll start posting material for next
week...my goal is to keep the web site at least 1-2 weeks ahead, and
more if I can.
Part 2
Here's a quick recap of this week. A couple of updates since class
today.
1. It looks like it won't be tricky to link the two sections
(ATOC/CHEM) in D2L, so look out for D2L to "go live" next week
sometime.
2. I've updated the "week 1" lecture "background" that is on the main
course website. No major changes, just a better list of pages from a
good online reference book (Daniel Jacob at Harvard). So if you like
reading books (and I recommend this one, especially for students who
are really into atmospheric sciences), this one is pretty good.
3. I should have keys to the stadium office starting next week
(255-04), so I can hold regular office hours (right now, I'm thinking
T/Th 10:30-11:45 and 2-3). For those of you who can't make those times,
I think the best strategy for the next week or two is to send me an
email and we'll figure something out. Often we can solve problems by
email, but if we need to meet (say, on M, W, or F) I can probably find
time, but maybe not on central campus.
Take a look at problems 4 (fairly easy) and 5, and let's discuss them
in class next Tuesday. Send me any questions, and have a great weekend!
